And then there was one……..

My Duchess finally had her puppy only one; I thought she was going to have at least two. I’m glad she had a boy and he looks like her (well the same color)

More yarn at a great value!!!

Was browsing online at my favorite yarn web sites when I came across smiley's yarns and they had the best deal going on. Moda Dea washable wool was marked down to $1.99 per skein. I instantly bought 10 skeins even though I don’t know what I want to use it for yet (you knitters know what I’m talking about), I just couldn’t pass up on this good deal plus I got a great color. Speaking of great deals I was also at the dollar store and they had some Caron Rhapsody for $1.00 of course I grabbed 20 skeins in my favorite color grey and 10 skeins in my daughters favorite color purple, I know I will find some to make this with. Most likely I will use the washable wool for a hoodie/cardigan of some sort and the rhapsody I will use to make my husband something in. Let hope and prey I will use this yarn in less than a year.

Team Manic Purl (Ravelry Olympics)

Just found out today that I won a prize (project bag) from Team Manic Purl for the ravelry Olympics. I’m very excited about this because I rarely win anything, everybody did such a great job and I’m so glad that I was able to participate in this years Ravelry Olympics and can’t wait till the next one.

Ravelympics 2010

Whew! I thought I wasn’t going to get this done in time. It is now 11:36 pm and I’m all done and very tired. I would have finished sooner if both my daughters didn’t get sick and then me. I still feel a little under the weather but I was so destine to get this done. I will take pictures in the morning when I’m rejuvenated.

Why is purple so hard to photograph?

I’m overall okay with the sweater, I think it turned out great but the sleeves are to short. I made the size 26 inch and the sleeves just don’t match the rest of the sweater. That’s why I hate patterns without schematics, because if I would have known the length of the sleeves then I would have made them longer. All that matters is that she is happy and she is.

Kool way to dye

This is Elann Peruvian Highland Donegal in oatmeal but my daughter and I dyed it red with cherry kool-aid. We used 4 packets to get this deep red color with a little variegation to it. I knit up a swatch to see what it looks like and we love it, not bad for our first time. Mia promised me that she will make a scarf with this beautiful skein of yarn; I love the color so much I think I’m going to dye some for me and make a sweater.
